Singles Group
The Singles Group serves women of all ages interested in participating in “meet and greets”, and community activities planned by the group and aimed at decreasing isolation, and building social and personal relationships. Volunteers are always needed for facilitation and coordinated planned activities. Check calendar for listing, call for volunteer opportunities.

Drumming Circle
The drumming circle provides women with the opportunity to use this form of self-expression as a method of developing skill, knowledge, and allowing women to merge their cultural experiences as a way to build community.

X-Pressions of You Young Women’s Coalition (XPU)
XPU serves women between the ages of 18 and 30 through monthly drop-in discussions which provide a source of socialization and activity. XPU outreaches and works to provide a safe environment for young women seeking community, resources, and referrals.

Justice in Health Initiative
As part of the redesign of the Healthy Woman Initiative, Affinity and other community leaders began meeting in November of 2004. The “Coalition” formed by women, healthcare providers, leaders interested in addressing and supporting improved health for African American Lesbians. The coalition, while still in formation, has identified some preliminary issues that will be addressed over the next 2years including: 1.) development of greater partnerships with ally organizations, particularly outside of the lgbt community; 2;) working with local and state legislators to incorporate black lesbian health awareness into the black community health agendas 3.) development of an accurate and timely healthcare professional resource guide to respond to community need; 4.) organizing efforts to respond to emerging individual and community needs. Interested in joining the work, please call the office for upcoming meeting dates or activities.
